Following directly on from the ready to wear collection Old Lace, New Life I was inspired to further explore the collection theme by venturing into accessories. I ended up creating a line of handbags and shoulder-bags made from vintage, hand-made Greek laces.

I used silk, cotton and viscose linings, normally with a subtle jacquard design to dress the interior of the bag but also on the exterior as the fabric appearing directly under the lace. I used materials with subtle chromatic tones so as to blend with the lace colours.

I also used silk and cotton cords to create handles and straps, and tightening mechanisms to open and close the bag, and incorporated pebbles and minerals gathered from Greek beaches into the designs.
