OLD LACE, NEW LIFE AT THE NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM | BEHIND THE SCENES

Eleftheria Gkoufa of the Benaki Museum (from conservation and exhibitions) kindly lent her skills to coordinate the garden exhibition at the National Archaeological Museum. It was an honour to have her involved in the show. The garden exhibition was beautifully set up and as a result the show received compliments from art gallery curators.

She led the set up of the free standing installation displays. Our flat exhibits: textiles and drawings where displayed between 2 sheets of perspex standing on metallic supports. She also set up the wedding dress display which stood in a 3 dimensional perspex box.

She worked backstage in the museum to arrange the exhibits in the display stands and then in the garden area placing the exhibits en-situ. She was kindly assisted regarding any needs by the wonderful museum staff.
